Seibu's oil type wire EDMs cut in a petroleum dielectric rather than deionized water. Oil removes the electrolytic corrosion that water can leave on carbide and hardened steel, which is what makes these machines the choice for fine dies, punches, and carbide tooling.
Specifications for the Seibu M25LP are listed below in imperial and metric, both as published by Seibu America. It runs Seibu's Smart NC control with 5 controlled axes, 4 of them simultaneous, and a 0.01 µm least input increment. Seibu machines are sold and supported in Southern California by MASCO.
